The revision of Electoral Roll of Sikkim has started from 31st August 2013 by the Election Department, as per the Election Commission of India. The Draft Electoral Roll has been published on 31st August 2013 and is available on the website of CEO, Sikkim for the information of the public. Further a copy of the Draft Electoral Roll is available with the respective booth Level Officers. Those who wish to see the Electoral Roll may contact their respective Booth Level Officers. The Draft Electoral Rolls are available in the office of District Collectors also.
The period of receiving Claims and Objections is from 31st September 2013. Those who wish to include their names in the Electoral Rolls or delete their names from the Rolls or correct any errors in the Electoral Rolls or shift their names from one Polling Station to any other Polling Station may apply to the BDOs who have been appointed as the Assistant Electoral Registering Officers. Those who would complete 18 years of age as on 1st January 2014 can also apply now for the inclusion of their names in the Electoral Rolls.
The application forms are available with the Booth Level Officers. The public can obtain these forms from the BLOs, fill up with complete details, and submit the form to BLOs with all required enclosures before 30th September 2013. The applications would then be scrutinized by the Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and would be accepted or rejected based on the merits of the case.
The Election Department appeals to all the general public to utilize this opportunity for including/deleting/correcting/transferring their names in the Electoral Rolls and submit the application forms before the last date i.e., 30th September 2013.
